Free instruction for Beginners
While you are likely to find strong players willing to give teaching games at any time, we offer regular free instruction every Sunday at 2pm. Players of all strengths are welcome, however instruction will be geared to beginners and tailored to suit those attending.
Professional Reviews of Games
Next Session: Saturday, April 5th, 2008, from 7:30-9:30pm
We are fortunate to have MingJiu Jiang, professional 7-dan, visit our club monthly to conduct FREE reviews of your games. Simply bring a game record (kifu), or any questions you have regarding the opening game (please refrain from showing handicap games). This special event occurs in the evening on a
mid-month Saturday. Beginner to advanced players are welcome.
The event is sponsored by the Ing Foundation.
Go Night at "Games of Berkeley"
Monday evenings 6-9pm.
The club currently teaches the basic game of Go on 9x9 boards one night a week at the Games of Berkeley game store (Corner of Shattuck & Center St.). We also have boards and a fully equipped space downstairs for additional games.
